Police hand out flyers looking for Md. shooter

LANHAM, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County police are handing out flyers in a Lanham neighborhood where a man was shot and killed on August 1.

Police say 26-year-old Shayne Francis Snipes was found suffering from gunshot wounds in a parking lot around 11:15 Friday night and later died of his injuries.

Detectives will pass out flyers and canvass the area around the 8600 block of Greenbelt Road looking for information to further their investigation.

Police say they do not believe it was a random shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925. A reward of up to $25,000 is offered to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
