Police charge man for attempted robbery of taxi driver

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police have charged a suspect for an attempted robbery that occurred Friday morning.

The Frederick County Bureau of Investigations reported that they have charged 31-year-old Kashaka D. Miller with armed robbery, first and second degree assault, and theft under 1,000 dollars.

On Friday morning Miller approached a female Frederick Taxi cab driver and demanded money with a handgun, authorities reported. Police reported that when the woman refused, Miller ran away.

Police said the driver was able to provide a description of the suspect.

According to police they were able to set up a perimeter around the park and take a man fitting the description of the suspect in to custody. A female was also taken into custody at the scene, but she was released after questioning

Miller is currently at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center awaiting a court appearance.
