Person dies at Harpers Ferry National Park

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MD (WUSA9) - A person died at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park Friday afternoon, the National Park Service confirmed.

It happened in the Maryland Heights section of the park, which stretches over Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers.

NPS didn’t release any details about who died or the circumstances surrounding the death. Officials are working to notify the victim’s family members.

The incident is under investigation.
