Pedestrian dies after being hit by 2 cars in Prince George's County

PRINCE GEORGE'S CO., MD (WUSA9) - A pedestrian was struck and killed in Prince George's County Thursday evening at the intersection of Metzerott Road and New Hampshire Avenue in Adelphi, Maryland.

Police arrived on the scene around 7:30 p.m. where they found a pedestrian on the ground and unresponsive. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Investigators said the victim might have been struck by a second car after the initial crash. 

The second driver may not have realized they hit the victim, already on the ground, police said.

Police said the driver involved in the initial crash stayed on the scene, cooperating with police. 

There is no further information at this time.
