PD: Suspect sought in Md. BOA robbery

SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County Police Department are searching for a suspect in connection with a bank robbery that happened Tuesday afternoon at a Bank of America located in Silver Spring, Md.

Police said, the robbery happened at 2:52 p.m. at the Bank of America located at 10151 Colesville Road in Silver Spring, Md.

According to authorities, the suspect walked into the bank with a note and had an unknown type of potentially-explosive device. He got the cash and then fled the bank, police said. The suspect took the device with him, authorities said. Nobody was hurt in the robbery.

The robber is being described as a light-skinned black man. He is between 5 feet 10 inches tall and 6 feet tall, with a medium build. According to authorities, he was wearing a black sweatshirt and an olive-green-colored baseball cap at the time of the incident.

The investigation of the incident is still ongoing.

There is no video of the suspect to release at this time. Anyone with information regarding this bank robbery is asked to call the Robbery Section at 240-773-5100.
