Organizers say the event is a way to honor and pay tribute to FDNY firefighters who lost their lives, responding to the terrorist attack.
The climb started at 8:46am, the time the first Twin Tower was hit.
Each participant walked the equivalent of 110 stories, the number of floors of the Twin Towers.
The event raised over $50,000 for the National Fallen Firefighters Association.
