COLUMBIA, MD. (WUSA9) - Howard County police have arrested a woman dubbed the “Hamburgler” after she was identified for breaking into a McDonald’s on November 5.

Police posted the viral video of 27-year-old Springfield resident Jessica Marie Cross pulling up to the drive-through window of a McDonald’s in Columbia at approximately 1 a.m. and attempting to place an order, although the restaurant had closed. The video then shows Cross opening the window and pouring herself a drink, before crawling through the window into the McDonald’s.

Police say that Cross stole money, a purse, food and Happy Meal toys during the half an hour she remained in the McDonald’s. She then attempted to wipe her fingerprints from the area and disable the surveillance system.

A McDonald’s employee reported the theft at 5 a.m. after discovering the cash registers disturbed and $1,400 in cash missing.

After posting the video, investigators received multiple tips identifying Cross and were able to match her car to the white Hyundai videotaped at the scene. Cross turned herself in to the police on Thursday morning. She was charged with burglary and theft.
