MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Montgomery County police officer has been indicted for one count of perjury.
Officer Colin O'Brien testified in a drug paraphernalia trial in February of 2014 and a complaint was raised regarding the accuracy of his testimony, police said.
Detectives investigated the complaint and evidence was presented to a grand jury on Thursday, police said.
The jury returned an indictment on Thursday, police said. If found guilty O'Brien will be charged with a misdemeanor and faces a maximum sentence of 10 years.
