MD man arrested for assault

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Maryland man has been arrested for first degree assault.

Irman Edward, of Mount Rainier Maryland is being charged with first and second degree assault, and use of a firearm during a felonious violent crime, the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office said.

On May 27th, Edward got into a fight with an acquaintance in an apartment in Hyattsville, the warrant for his arrest stated. Edward retrieved a rifle from a nearby laundry room and pointed it at the victim before hitting the victim in the head and back.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

A warrant had been out for Edward's arrest since August 16th. Deputies were able to locate Edward in Mount Ranier and take him into custody without incident.
