Md. child sex abuse suspect in custody

BALTIMORE (WUSA9) -- Anne Arundel County Police say a suspect accused of sexually abusing a child has been taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.

Police say 20-year-old Darrius Eric Carr was taken into custody on April 8 by the Harford County Sheriff's Department.

During their investigation which began on March 21, police say they learned that a toddler left in the care and custody of Darrius Eric Carr was sexually abused over the course of several days.

Based on their evidence, detectives submitted an application for a statement of charges to the District Court Commissioner. Carr is charged with Sex Abuse of a Minor, Third and Fourth Degree Sex Offenses, and Second Degree Assault, Production and Possession of Child Pornography.
