Md. car crash leaves 1 seriously injured

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police responded to a car crash involving two vehicles in Anne Arundel County Saturday night that has left one person with life-threatening injuries.

Anne Arundel County Police said they responded to the crash at 10:53 p.m. at Mountain Road and Brookfield Road. Officers said the passenger in the Lincoln has sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment.

Investigation shows that the 2007 Nissan was going east and the Lincoln was going west on Mountain Road. The Lincoln made a left turn in front of the Nissan, police said. The Nissan then hit the passenger side of the Lincoln, when the Lincoln was trying to turn into a business.

Police said the cause of the crash seems to be the Lincoln driver's error. Authorities also said that alcohol was a factor in the accident.

The crash is still being investigated.
