Md. babysitter arrested in child sex abuse

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WUSA9) -- Detectives from Anne Arundel County Police arrested a 22-year-old man Thursday in connection with sexually abusing a child over several months last year.

Anne Arundel County Police Department said they got information on March 20, regarding a possible child abuse case.

Police were able to determine that Andrew Dickinson Grabau sexually abused a child over a several month period in 2013, authorities said.

Grabau had been hired by the victim's parents to babysit, police said. Family members told authorities they left their child in the care of Grabau several occasions between April 2013 and October 2013.

Charges were filed against Grabau and he was arrested on warrant Thursday.

He was charged with sex abuse of a minor, third and fourth degree sex offenses, and second degree assault, police said. The incidents happened at the victim's home.

Grabau was released on a $25,000 bail.
