Man shoots stolen gun from car in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS Md. (WUSA9) -- Police have arrested a man who they say fired shots out of a car using a stolen gun.

Delvonta Wright, 22, of Severn, was arrested for shooting a gun from a vehicle on the 1100 block of Madison St.

On July 9, at 6:30 p.m., police responded to a reports of shooting from a vehicle in the Harbour House Community, according to police.

Police spotted a car with four people inside in the 800 block of Chesapeake Avenue, when one man ran from the vehicle carrying a handgun.

Police quickly found the handgun in the backyard of a home in the 800 block of Bay Ridge Avenue and then located the suspect in the 800 block of Chesapeake Avenue.

Wright is awaiting his court hearing where he will be charged with the following: carrying a handgun on person; carrying a handgun in a vehicle; discharging a firearm in Annapolis; reckless endangerment; theft less than $1,000; and stealing a registered firearm, according to the press release.
