Man dies at Aberdeen Proving Ground

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man's death on the Edgewood side of Aberdeen Proving Ground on Tuesday is under investigation.

Little is known about the man or his death. The U.S. Army Aberdeen Proving Ground Public Affairs Office released the following information:

"Emergency personnel responded to an incident at approximately 9:15 this morning near the Maryland Route 24 Gate (Hoadley Road) on the Edgewood side of Aberdeen Proving Ground.

A U.S. Army civilian employee conducting grounds maintenance was transported by medical helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma where medical personnel were unable to save his life.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.

No other information is available at this time.

The cause of the incident is under investigation."
