Man charged in connection with double homicide in District Heights

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD (WUSA9) - A 20-year-old man has been charged in the connection with the fatal shooting of two men in District Heights last Thursday, according to the Prince George's County Police Department. 

Karon Moore of Forestville, Md. has been charged with first and second-degree murder for the shooting deaths of 34-year-old Phillip Michael and 31-year-old Kenneth Edmonds.

The shooting happened around 12:55 a.m. Officers got a call for the sound of gunshots in the 6600 block of Atwood Street at the Woodland Springs Apartment Complex. Upon arrival, officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police say the suspect and victims were part of a larger group that had been in an argument prior to the shootings. The suspect and victims were acquaintances, police said.
