Man arrested for attempted kidnapping of 3rd grader

CLINTON, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police in Prince George's County have arrested a 53-year-old man for the attempted kidnapping of a third grade girl.

Police say Anthony Donald Logan, of the 5200 block of Zephyr Avenue in Clinton, Md., began to chase the young girl Monday, March 10 when she was walking alone to James Ryder Randall Elementary School.

The child ran into a neighbor's yard, where police say the suspect came up behind the girl and grabbed her book bag. The girl quickly pulled away from Logan and police say he swung at the girl but missed. She managed to escape to her school unharmed where an administrator called police.
