Man arrested after salon robbery not taken seriously

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police arrested a man who tried to rob a hair salon, however failed because he was not taken seriously on Wednesday afternoon in Annapolis.

Police said around 5 p.m. a suspect entered the Bubbles Hair Salon located 2564 Solomons Island Rd. Annapolis, Md. and announced a robbery.

According to authorities, the man had his arm and hand under his shirt saying that he had a weapon although he never showed or said he had one.

The man repeated his demands, however police said the receptionist laughed and could not take the suspect seriously. The man then started small talk before he left the salon.

A little later, the receptionist stopped an officer and reported the incident. She told the officer the man left and went to another business close by before being picked up by a white Nissan. Police said the receptionist was able to provide a partial tag.

Deputies were able to determine the suspect is Ryan Michael Trembly, 29, of Curtis Bay. Police found Trembly at his mother's house in the Curtis Bay area.

He was arrested and charged with one count of attempted robbery and one count of theft less than $1,000.
