HYATTSVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Crews are working to fix a 90-year-old water main break in the 6600 block of Baltimore Avenue in Hyattsville, WSSC said Tuesday afternoon.
As of now two northbound lanes and one southbound lane of Baltimore Avenue are closed between Van Buren and Albion. Officials said those closures will be in place for a few days.
The water main broke where it connects with an 8" main. In addition, some Verizon lines were also damaged and they will have be fixed after the water main repairs are completed.
WSSC has delivered water to 25 customers impacted by the water main break. Water service is expected to be restored either late Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
