Increased reward offered in Frederick murder

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- The reward for information leading to an arrest in a 2012 Frederick, Md. homicide has been increased to $7,000.

The family and friends of Lamont Ellis are offering the reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person, or persons responsible for his murder.

On Sept. 12, 2012, Lamont was murdered in Frederick following a night out with friends. While walking to his car parked near Mullinex Alley at approximately 1:50 a.m., Lamont was shot in an apparent robbery attempt. Police are asking anyone with information on this investigation to call the Frederick Police Department's Tip line at 301-600-TIPS.

An account has been set up in Lamont's name to accept donations towards the reward being offered. Money is accepted at any M&T Bank in the account name for the "Lamont G. Ellis Reward Fund". Donations may also be sent to:
