Firefighter rescues dog from freezing water, plans to adopt

PRINCE GEORGE'S CO, MD (WUSA9) - A dog was rescued from freezing water on Friday by a firefighter from the Prince George's County Fire Department.

After rescuing the freezing dog, firefighters took the dog to the fire station and awaited animal control.

Officials say they scanned the dog and did not find a chip. Aside from the dog being rescued safely, there's even better news. The firefighter who rescued the dog is planning to adopt the dog on Saturday.

Thanks, PGFD! Keep up the good work.
