DNA leads to suspect in home invasion that injured 2

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WUSA9) -- DNA evidence has led to a suspect in a home invasion robbery from last year, report Anne Arundel County Police.

Police say an investigation into the October 18, 2013 home invasion to the 500 block of McPherson Road in Glen Burnie resulted in DNA evidence. Once the evidence was processed, a man was identified as a suspect and a warrant was issued for him

On March 4, Prince George's County Police arrested 26-year-old Travis Evans of Baltimore, Md., say Anne Arundel County Police.

Anne Arundel County Police tell us Evans is being held in Prince George's County while awaiting trial on local charges. A detainer has been placed on the him to appear in Anne Arundel County on the home invasion charges.

Evans is one of three suspects accused of forcing their way into a home and assault an 87-year-old man and his 73-year-old girlfriend. The suspects ransacked the home, took money and property.
