Cops: No one called for help for attempted robbery victim

ANNAPOLIS (WUSA9) -- No one who stopped to watch an attempted robbery on Wednesday called police, say Annapolis Police officials.

Two men approached another man who was walking at President Street and Van Buren Street at 11 a.m. Wednesday. They then started punching and kicking him. They also attempted to reach into his pockets for his belongings but were unsuccessful, say police.

Officers spoke to the victim at the Anne Arundel Medical Center where he was seeking treatment for minor injuries sustained in the attempted robbery. Police say he told officers that several drivers stopped their vehicles while the assault was occurring, but no one called the police at the time.
