Coast Guard transports unconscious man from Md. sailboat

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WUSA9) -- Authorities said the Coast Guard medevaced an unconscious man from a sailboat in Mills Creek, close to Annapolis, Md. on Wednesday.

According to authorities, a person on the sailboat called the Coast Guard, telling authorities that a man was unconscious on the boat.

People close by from the Sector Baltimore launched a 29-foot response boat, authorities said. A crew from the Coast Guard Station in Annapolis also helped.

The man was taken to emergency medical services personnel at Cantler's Riverside Inn, authorities said.

"We assessed the victim when we arrived on scene and decided to bring him aboard," said Petty Officer 3rd Class Rob Rogers, a crewmember at Coast Guard Station Annapolis. "The sailboat was en route to the awaiting EMS when we decided to transfer him because we could get there quicker."

Authorities said, the man is conscious again and his condition is currently stable.
