Car crashes into MD house

CALVERT COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man is in serious condition after his car crashed into a Maryland house on Sunday evening, the Calvert County Sheriff's Office said.

22-year-old Brandon Nicholson of Mechanicsville Maryland was driving on Route 231, Hallowing Point Road, when his car skid off the roadway, hit the edge of a driveway and became airborne, the sheriff's office said.

Nicholson's black Nissan then struck a car parked at the house and crashed into the corner of the house causing serious damage, the sheriff's office reported.

Two men were in the house at the time of the crash, but neither was injured, the sheriff's office said. The house has been deemed unlivable, and both occupants of the house will be staying with relatives, the sheriff's office said.

Nicholson is being treated at Prince George's County Trauma Center and is in serious but stable condition, the sheriff's office reported.

Speed was a contributing factor in the crash, the sheriff's office said.
