Baltimore detective dies after shot in head, search for suspect continues

We learned a lot about Sean Suiter's life -- from someone who played a big role in his life, growing up here in DC.

BALTIMORE, MD. (WUSA9) - The Baltimore detective that was shot in the head Wednesday night has died from his injuries, police said.

Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said the detective is 43-year-old Sean Suiter, a father of five.

The shooting happened at 4:30 p.m. on the 900 block of Bennett Place, near Fremont Ave, police reported Wednesday. They said Suiter was off-duty at the time of the shooting.

He was an 18-year veteran of the force.

The FBI is offering a $60,000 reward for the identification of the suspect involved in the shooting.
