3 suspects lead cops on 35-mile-long chase

A high-speed car chase crossing county lines into The District.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY,, MD. (WUSA9) - Three suspects led multiple police agencies in a chase that spanned approximately 35 miles and three jurisdictions Monday morning, officials said.

Around 1:30 a.m., police received a report of suspects breaking and entering into a Sprint store at the Marley Station Mall in Glen Burnie, according to Anne Arundel County police. Once officers arrived at the scene, they saw three people jump into a car to try to make their getaway. 

Anne Arundel County Police pursued the suspect's car, which eventually made its way to southbound Baltimore-Washington Parkway. That's when United States Park Police officers joined the chase.

Eventually, all three suspects made their way into the District, crashing their car on 3rd and Bryant Streets in northeast, D.C. said.

According to Anne Arundel County police, all three suspects ran from the car, but one woman was caught immediately. After a short foot chase, a man was also taken into custody.

The third suspect, a man, was struck by a vehicle as he attempted to escape. He was transported to Prince George's Hospital in unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police said the three suspects will face federal and state charges. They are currently in the custody of MPD, however, Anne Arundel County police are working to obtain warrants and the State's Attorney will move to extradite the suspects.
