3 ID'd in Md. murder-suicide

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. (WUSA9) -- Preliminary investigation into a murder-suicide in District Heights suggests that a man shot two women before turning the weapon on himself, police said.

It happened at around 4:40 p.m., at 1588 Addison Road in District Heights, Md., police said.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a woman dead at the home. Then, they forced their way into the home where two other people were critically injured, police said.

A man and a woman were rushed to the hospital, where they later died, police said.

Officers will continue to canvass the neighborhood, searching for clues for why this triple death happened.

Police identified the three people involved in the murder-suicide on Saturday. The suspect has been identified as 45-year-old Leroy Johnson, Jr. of Oxon Hill, police said.

The victims have been identified as 42-year-old Zonita Monia Roberts, of Georgia and 43-year-old Angela Lynette Johnson, of Oxon Hill.

Police said, the suspect is the recently estranged husband of Johnson.
