3 dumpster fires under investigation in Md.

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating three dumpster fires in three nights at the Hunting Creek Apartments on Daisy Lane in Lexington Park.

According to fire officials, someone intentionally set fire to the contents of a dumpster in all cases. The fires happened on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights.

Tuesday night's fire was discovered by a neighbor, say officials. Investigators determined that someone intentionally set Tuesday night's fire, which caused about $600 damage to the dumpster.

The ATF, the FBI and the Maryland State Police are assisting in the investigation.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the fires are asked to call the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, Southern Region at 443-550-6830.
