3 arrested for robbery after scented oil confrontation

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police say three men were arrested for strong arm robbery in Anne Arundel County after a confrontation about scented oils sold by one of the victims.

Police say they were called to the intersection of Crain Highway and Wellham Avenue for the report of a robbery on March 13 at 5:33 p.m.

The victims -- age 21 and 17 -- told police they had been walking in front of 6913 Glen Ridge Circle when they were confronted by three male suspects. Police say one of the suspects advised the victim that he wanted to buy a bottle of scented oil.

Another suspect then accused a victim of stealing a cell phone and struck him in the face, police say. The other suspects then began rifling through the victims pockets, stealing their property.

Officers were able to locate the suspects in the area and the victims were able to positively identify the suspects. Police say they are 21-year-old Delroy Anthony Johnson, of the 6900 block of Glen Ridge Circle in Glen Burnie, Md.; 18-year-old Calvin Ronshaye Savoy, of the 100 block of Morris Court in Glen Burnie; and 18-year-old Charles William Sheffield, also of the 100 block of Morris Court in Glen Burnie, Md.

All suspects were charged with robbery and attempted robbery. Additionally, suspect Johnson was charged with theft under $1,000.00 and suspects Savoy and Sheffield were charged with theft under $100.00.
