2 arrested in Md. attempted robbery and assault of man

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- Two people were arrested in connection with attempted robbery and assault of a 44-year-old man in Anne Arundel County Saturday night.

Authorities said deputies responded to 11th Ave. and 1st St. in Brookyln, Md. around 11:09 p.m.

According to the victim, he was sitting in his car in the parking lot of McDonalds located at 11th Ave and Ritchie Hwy. when a man and a woman approached his car.

Authorities said the victim was punched in the face and the suspects demanded his money. The two people then assaulted the man.

The victim tried to fight back but could not. Authorities said the victim was able to put his car into gear. The car traveled for a little bit with everybody inside.

After the vehicle stopped at 11th Ave. in front of Park Elementary School, the suspects got out and fled the scene.

The suspects were later arrested after a search of the area, authorities said. Authorities said the victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries and later released.

Leonard Alfred Williams, II, 25, of Brooklyn, Md. and Nastassia Marie Williams, 28, of Glen Burnie, Md. were both arrested.

They are being charged with attempt robbery and second degree assault. The woman is being charged with possession of marijuana.
