19-year-old killed in Howard County car crash

WOODBINE, MD. (WUSA9) - A 19-year-old is dead after a crash early Sunday morning in Howard County, police said. 

The single-vehicle crash happened around 3:50 a.m. southbound on Route 94 just south of Brittle Branch Way, Howard County police stated. 

Authorities said the 2000 Saturn SL2 was going southbound when it left the road and crashed into a tree. 

Pierce B. English, 19, of Germantown was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation shows that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. 

Route 94 from Frederick Road to Cattail River Driver was closed for about three hours, police said.
