Man charged with indecent exposure in Manassas

MANASSAS, VA (WUSA9) - A 27-year-old man was arrested after an indecent exposure incident reported near Irongate Way and Farragut Court in Manassas on Tuesday, Prince William County police said.

Police officers obtained an arrest warrant that day, but later that evening Derek James Arnsberger turned himself in to police.

Just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, a 20-year-old victim reported that she was walking in Manassas when she was approached by an unknown man driving and asking for directions. During the encounter, she told police the man exposed himself and man an obscene gesture toward her.

He was charged with indecent exposure and obscene sexual display.

Arnsberger is being held on $1,000 bond. His court hearing is scheduled for Oct. 24, 2016.
