Man shoots, robs victim playing basketball in NE, DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Police arrested a 22-year-old man who allegedly shot and robbed a man who was playing basketball in Northeast, D.C. 

The assault happened on September 11 in the 100 block of T Street in Northeast, D.C., Metropolitan police said. 

Authorities said the victim was playing basketball when the suspect approached him and pulled out a gun. The victim tried to run away, however was shot in the neck. 

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old James Rousseau of SW, D.C. then stole the victim's wallet and cell phone. 

Rousseau was arrested on Thursday and is being charged with assault and intent to kill gun. He was additionally charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and robbery while armed.
