Man killed after losing control of motorcycle

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (WUSA9) -- A motorcyclist died on Thursday afternoon after losing control of his motorcycle, police said.

Zachary A. Macintosh, 29 was driving a 1999 Suzuki GSXR-750 motorcycle between an estimated 75-80 mph in a 45 mph zone. A state trooper activated the emergency lights and siren on his car and attempted to stop Macintosh, police said.

Macintosh did not stop and accelerated at a higher rate of speed on Route 40. He lost control of his motorcycle when he entered a curve after which the "motorcycle left the roadway and Macintosh was ejected", police said.

Police are investigating the incident.
