Man found in car in Md. park and ride lot ID'd

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WUSA9) -- Maryland State Police said Thursday they have identified a body found in a parking lot Wednesday to be that of a 37-year-old man who was reported missing on July 4.

Around 4 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the park and ride lot on the Harry S. Truman Parkway in Annapolis for the report of a body inside a car.

Police say identification in a wallet found on the body matched the person to whom the car is registered. The man has been identified as Kevin P. Johnson, 37, of Chester, Md.

The cause and manner of death have not been determined. Investigators noted trauma on the body, but the preliminary investigation indicates the wound may have been self-inflicted, police said in a news release.

All possibilities are being investigated until further definitive information is developed from the autopsy.
