Man found dead in Silver Spring home

SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA) -- Three technical rescue teams worked on removing the body of a 500-pound man in the basement of a home, officials tell WUSA9.

The roommate returned to the group home to find the man had died in the basement of the home and called officials. Around 7:30 a.m., Montgomery County Fire EMS were called for a medical emergency at 12918 Autumn Drive. When they arrived on the scene, they found the man inside. They notified the Police.

The man weighed almost 500 pounds and was in his 50's, officials tell WUSA9.

Around noon, Police called the Fire and EMS Department, to assist in removing his body from the home. Hazmat was also called in. They had to cut a hole in the main floor of the home to get the man out of the basement and then cut a hole in the roof of the house to lower a pulley, create a stretcher and raised the man out the main level to get him out that way, police tell WUSA9.

Police are investigating this as a natural death incident.
