ASPEN HILL, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man is dead after being hit by a car in Aspen Hill Monday morning, Montgomery County police said.
The crash happened on Georgia Ave and Regina Drive Northbound around 6:55 a.m., police said.
The victim was identified as Robert Grossman. Rachel Grossman is the victim's daughter.
"He taught me to do whatever would make me happy he just wanted me to be happy and for that I appreciate it," she said. " I love you dad."
"I'm in shock because he was my only sibling left. He had a kind heart and would take off the shirt off his back to help his family," said the victim's sister Joelle Black.
"He was very into his religion and devoted to Judaism and his family came first," said the victim's wife, Claire Grossman.
According to police, a school bus driver witnessed the crash. Police also say Grossman was not in the crosswalk when he was hit.
Grossman was waiting to catch a bus to go to synagogue.
Northbound Georgia Avenue was shut down at Rippling Brook Drive.
