Man arrested for hitting victim on head with gun in DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A 23-year-old man from Forestville was arrested for an assault with a gun that happened on October 14, Metropolitan police said.

The assault happened at 1200 Simms Place in Northeast, D.C., police said.  

Authorities said the victim was approached from behind by the suspect who hit him in the back of the head with a gun. The victim fled the scene and was then later taken to to the hospital for his injuries. 

Police arrested Ashton Brogdon, 23, of Forrestville, Md. on Friday. He is being charged with assault with dangerous weapon.
