Man arrested for 2 armed robberies in DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Police have arrested a man in connection to two armed robberies in DC.

33-year old Keith Austin has been charged with 'Armed Robbery of two establishments,' police said.

The first robbery happened on April 29 around 2:11 a.m. at a restaurant located in the unit block of Florida Ave, N.E. Officials said that Austin approached an employee, showed a weapon and demanded cash, police said.

The second robbery happened on March 30 around 12:26 a.m. at a hotel in the 1600 block of New York Avenue, N.E. An employee at the hotel said Austin had demanded cash and threatened with a weapon. He was able to leave the hotel with money, police said.
