Man arrested after trying to run away from Police

MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man has been arrested after he allegedly refused to pay his bill at a restaurant and then tried to run away from authorities.

Police found Uriel Gomez-Flores,28 urinating on the back steps of El Rincon Salvadoreno located at 9015 Centreville Road on April 6 around 12:40 a.m. He then ran away. When Police spoke to the owner of the restaurant, he said he left without paying his bill. Police tracked him down in a 2005 Suzuki Aerio, driving southbound on Route 28 at a high rate of speed and without headlights. The vehicle pursuit ended when the car crashed in an area by Portner Avenue and Maple Street, police said.

He escaped again and Police located him at a home located on 9440 Taney Road. Police detained him when he tried to run away again. He has been charged with intoxication in public, escape without force, reckless driving, driving without a license, eluding police, hit and run, and disorderly conduct, police said.

Flores is held on a $5,000.00 bond and has a pending court date of June 17, police said.
