Man charged for hit and run in stolen truck

LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- Loudoun County Sheriff's Office officials have arrested a man who they say was involved in a hit and run in a stolen truck.

James L. Jack, 50, was located after citizens reported seeing the stolen truck in the area of Briarcroft Plaza in Sterling.

Police issued an alert on Wednesday looking for information about the stolen truck and the suspect after he was involved in a hit and run in the area of Fort Evans Road and the Route 7/Route 15 Bypass.

The truck, a 2005 Freightliner, was reported stolen on May 7 from the area of Route 50 near Fleetwood Road. The vehicle was recovered and has since been returned.

Jack has been charged with auto theft and driving while a habitual offender. He also facing additional charges in Leesburg in connection with the hit and run.
