LANDOVER, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County police arrested a man for the Monday murder of a Landover, Md. woman.
Tor Campbell, of Greenbelt, is charged with first degree murder, the department announced in a tweet.
Campbell, 39, of the 8500 block of Greenbelt Road, was taken into custody today at his home. He's additionally charged with second degree murder as well as armed robbery.
Police said the woman was found by a relative in her home in the 6800 block of West Forest Drive. She suffered upper body trauma, according to police. Police have not said exactly how she may have died.
Police have identified the victim as 36-year-old Shauntelle Marie Lewis of Landover, Md.
A spokesman for the Greenbelt police confirms they recovered the vehicle that appears to be linked to the case. According to the spokesperson, Greenbelt police attempted to make a traffic stop at about 4:30 a.m., but the car did not stop and they did not pursue it. A few minutes later the same car, a Nissan, was spotted in a wooded area near Greenbelt Road and Frankfurt Drive, where it had apparently been abandoned.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
