Germantown exorcism murder suspects get grand jury indictment

ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Two women who claimed they were performing an exorcism in the killing of two infant children have been indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury for first degree murder.

Monifa Sanford, 21, and Zaekeiya Avery, 28, both of Germantown, face a maximum penalty of life in prison.

Police say the two women killed Avery's children, a 1-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl, at their Germantown home on Jan. 18, 2014.

Both women are being held without bond.
