Gas station carjacking leads to police chase in Va.

ARLINGTON, VA (WUSA9) - A man carjacked a woman at a Wheaton gas station before leading police on a chase into Arlington, Va. Monday night. 

Anthony Eugene Shade, 41, was charged with carjacking.

Around 9 p.m., police say Shade approached a woman at a gas station located at 2204 University Blvd. West and verbally threatened that if she didn't give him her car, he would harm her. Shade fled the gas station in the woman's car and she called 9-1-1. 

Police spotted the carjacked car around 9:16 p.m. traveling in Langley Park. Police attempted to stop the car, but Shade refused to stop. Police were in pursuit of Shade when he hit another car in the intersection of Lee Highway and North Highland Street in Arlington. 

Shade was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries sustained in the crash. After he was released, Shade was charged for the carjacking and offenses in Arlignton, Va.
