GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA9) -- A snow emergency has been declared in the City of Gaithersburg in anticipation of the sleet, freezing rain and significant snowfall beginning late Sunday evening.
While the full intensity of the storm is still uncertain, the City of Gaithersburg is asking residents to start getting ready so snow removal can be done as efficiently as possible.
The City asks residents to help by moving cars off all roadways and using off-street parking on Sunday. The will allow crews to remove snow more thoroughly and quickly, authorities said.
Cars will have to be off the snow emergency routes in Gaithersburg starting at midnight on March 2. Your vehicle could be towed if you fail to do so, according to authorities.
Recycling and bulk-pick-up for Monday, March 3 is being push back. For residents whose regular recycling day is Monday, recycling will be picked up on Saturday, March 8.
Residents whose bulk pick-up day is March 3, will be pushed back to Monday, March 10.
