Wrong Number: Alleged prostitute accidentally dials police

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- A prostitute accidentally called a police officer to offer him sex, police said in a news release.

Angela Marie Mayers, 44, of Walkersville, Md, called a member of the Frederick Police Department's Drug Enforcement Unit, officials said.

"When the caller ... solicited the officer for a sexual act, the officer asked her if she knew who she was calling, as it was clear she was mistaken as to his identity. Ayers said she knew who he was, but referred to him by a different name," police said.

The officer played along and agreed to meet Ayers. She was arrested when she arrived to the location where police were waiting for her.

"A search of Ayers' person incident to arrest revealed a glass smoking device, commonly referred to a "crack stem," containing suspected crack cocaine residue," police said.

Ayers is charged with prostitution and other drug related charges.
