Sketch released of attempted sexual assault suspect

WALKERSVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) – Police are looking for a man who tried to sexually assault two female joggers on Sunday in Frederick County. Maryland State Police have released a sketch of the suspect.

According to Maryland State Police, a 37-year-old woman and a 50-year-old woman were attacked as they jogged on a path at Walkersville Community Park at approximately 3:30 p.m. They say the younger woman was grabbed from behind and the suspect tried to pull down her pants but she fought back.

The older woman also fought to get the suspect off of the other woman, say police. She called 911 on her cell phone before the suspect attacked her. The suspect then ran off toward Walkersville High School, according to police.

Police tell us that neither victim complained of any pain or serious injury from the assault, and refused medical treatment.

The suspect is described as an African American male, between 18 and 20 years old, 5'6" to 5' 8" tall, 150 pounds, with a thin build. He has a dark complexion with a very short, even-cut hair style and little to no facial hair, say police. He was wearing light khaki cargo shorts, with a long-sleeved gray shirt with black block-style lettering on it.
