Schools put on lockdown after jewelry store robbery

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Authorities are looking for four people after a robbery at a jewelry store in Frederick.

Officials with The Frederick County Sheriff's Office say they were called about a robbery at Wholesale Diamond Consultants located at 5301 Buckeystown Pike at 10:49 am.

Officers arrived on the scene at 10: 51 a.m. and established a perimeter. They continue to look for the suspects.

According to officials, preliminary reports indicate that three black males and a black female may be involved in the robbery. They say a gun was displayed.

Nearby Ballenger Creek Elementary School and the Carroll Creek Montessori School have been placed on a lock down status.
