Police: Frederick man arrested for robbery

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Frederick police arrested a man Monday who robbed a person on December 31, 2013 in Frederick.

Police said they responded to a reported robbery in the area of 1080 West Patrick Street in Frederick, Maryland. According to officers, the man was a victim of assault and had his money stolen from him.

Police and detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division were able to identify the suspect as 21-year-old Marquis Franklin Fitts.

Fitts and the victim were acquainted with each other and had been in the area together before the attack happened, according to police.

Police found Fitts in the 100 block of West Patrick Street on Monday. He was taken into custody and is at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

Fitts was booked on robbery, second degree assault and theft less than $1000.
