Md. teen uses baseball bat to threaten and rob victim

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police arrested a 17-year-old Thursday for an armed robbery that happened on March 10 in the 200 block of W South Street in Frederick, Md.

Authorities said officers responded to the scene of an armed robbery around 8:24 p.m. where they found a victim who had been robbed by his female acquaintance.

Police said Kayla Renee Weeks knew the victim and Weeks threatened the victim with a baseball bat for his money.

On Thursday Det. Petruzzello applied for a statement of charged against Weeks for the armed robbery and associated charges. An arrest warrant was issued for her on Thursday as well, police said.

Weeks was found in Frederick, Md. and arrested on her outstanding warrant.

She was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and is awaiting an initial hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

Weeks is being charged with armed robbery, robbery, 2nd degree assault, theft less than $1000, possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, and possession of a concealed dangerous weapon.
